Our wheel remanufacturing services is the preferred solution for wheels with extensive damage, cracks/missing metal, or have special finishes. Our nationwide wheel remanufacturing centers offer a free pick up and delivery service and typically operate in with a 24-hour turnaround.

What is wheel remanufacturing?

Our wheel remanufacturing process involves stripping the wheel of its former finish, welding (if required), and safely cutting the surface with a CNC lathe. Once the wheel is cleaned, powder primed, painted, and powder clear-coated, it is oven-baked.

Our wheel welding service is for wheels that have small cracks on the wheel lip or the back barrel within the safety bead limit. Wheels are carefully inspected prior to welding and must meet our “safe to repair” criteria. If it passes our safety criteria, a certified wheel technician will first arrest the crack and then weld it so that the mended area is actually stronger.

CNC Machining

Precision computerized machine tools enable AWRS to safely trim the repaired surfaces of a rim without affecting the strength. Such machining is done to smooth out welded areas and to enhance the original finish of the wheel. All wheels requiring machining are inspected and must meet our “safety to repair” criteria.

Vibratory Wheel Polishing

Vibratory wheel polishing is our solution for wheels with brushed and bright finishes. Powder clear coat is applied for permanent protection.

Our Goal

Our harsh Canadian climate and road system takes a heavy toll on alloy wheels. We often find new factory wheel finishes blemished and unable to withstand our weather sometimes after only one winter. Most wheels are designed overseas or in balmy California and tend fail quickly when exposed to our pot holes, salt, cold, brake dust and harsh cleaning chemicals. It is our intent to restore your wheels to “like new” again, we work with corroded, pitted, peeling, bent, cracked or faded wheels offering a cost effective alternative to the purchase of new wheels.

We offer powder-coated products that can be applied much thicker than traditional “wet” sprayed paints used by other wheel repair companies and even body shops. You will occasionally find minor flaws in our finished product. We take every opportunity to go over each wheel to explain our procedure to you. AWRS offers a limited 1 year warranty against peeling or flaking on our finishes. We want you to be another one of our happy customers, after all word of mouth is our best sales strategy!
